I am overjoyed to be joining the exceptional team at Rising Hope Counseling, LLC of Pierre! And I’m thrilled to be expanding their mission of hope, healing, and change to clients in the Yankton area.
I obtained my Master’s in Counseling from the University of South Dakota. I have decades of diverse work experiences, but most have been rooted in the helping profession, which is where my heart is. I have working experience in the following areas:
Physical Abuse Emotional Abuse Sexual Abuse Education/Vocation Issues
Suicide Self-Harm Separation Divorce
Secondary Victims of Violent Crimes Depression Anxiety
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders Substance Abuse Codependency
Criminal Behaviors Parent-Child Conflict Eating Disorders
Personality Disorders Impulse-Control Disorders PTSD
Chronic Illnesses Terminal Illnesses Homelessness/Economic Problems
Regardless of what you may be seeking services for, YOU are worth the effort! Your experience is the only one that matters. I can’t promise that your healing will be emotionally painless, and I won’t tell you what to do. But I will be “your person” if you choose to take a look at whatever issues may be holding you back from experiencing happiness and peace. There is no “right” way to heal. Together, we will take a look at what methods might be most useful for you, for wherever your experience has settled in you and in your life. I have been blessed to have some pretty amazing people support me through some of my life trials, and I would be honored should you choose me- to accompany you- through yours.
My Family: I am blessed with two handsome sons, and a beautiful daughter from my first marriage, and two adult step-children from my second husband, who is nothing short of a saint! Although my parents are both gone, I am fortunate to have all of my siblings within a couple hour drive.
Things I enjoy: Every season except winter, exploring nature, waterfalls, mountains, rustic little bridges over trickling streams, shelling along beaches, the ocean, horseback riding, drawing and painting, home-improvement projects, gardening, the NFL (go Packers!), reading, playing with puppies, and laughing.
Things I don’t enjoy: crowds, celery, spiders, and animals with opposable thumbs… apes, gorillas, monkeys, orangutans, chimpanzees, opossum, aliens from faraway galaxies… you get the idea.
So, if my freakish aversion to celery and my adoration of the Green Bay Packers
hasn’t turned you away, and you’d like to schedule with me,
call our main office in Pierre (605) 494-1500 or complete the New Client Request Form.
Looking forward to working with you!
